Award creates light

Every two years at the movement's conference, the reform movement awards the "Creator of Light" award to Israeli artists who make a unique and significant contribution to Israeli culture. In their work, "creators of light" make Israeli culture more open, more tolerant, more complex and deeper.

For his original and unique contribution to Israeli music and to Israeli culture in general, which constitutes a new stage in the theory of melody and creation of the Jewish people; For the musical and textual connection between tradition and renewal, between Israeli and Jewish music and music that combines different languages from the world: English, Spanish, Arabic and more. Recognition for the rare ability to combine different parts of the country, between diverse creative districts, and between people and languages; For his work for peace, for the connection between Jews and Arabs, and for the future of the state of the State of Israel. For making a voice and taking a stand on existential and fateful questions for Israeli society; For the belief in man, in the tradition of Israel and in its destiny and the healing and nurturing power of  The melody of the heart and soul

For his original and unique contribution to Israeli literature and to Israeli society in general. For his great contribution to the creation of a more egalitarian and just society, his fight against the discriminatory effects of entire societies on an ethnic or national background. For the expansion of the Israeli experience and consciousness, through his human and talented writing, which was good at describing and representing the voice of the other: the woman, the Arab, the immigrant and more. For encouraging tolerance and strengthening pluralism in Israeli society. For making a voice and taking a stand on existential and fateful questions for Israeli society; For his work for the preservation of the human photographer, and his compassionate and anxious look at the freedom and dignity of every person as a person
