Prayer
and Community
Finally, we return to pray as a movement, in services that will bring together modernity and tradition, Sephardic and Ashkenazi voices, ancient and new.
The entirety of the services in the IMPJ Conference will be read and led from the new Siddur, “Tefilat Ha-Adam”, and will be screened in Hebrew and English. Kabbalat Shabbat services will be led by Reform rabbis from our rural congregations throughout Israel - from the northern Golan to the southern Yahel.
Hallelu:
A musical weekend
Cantors, singers, Sephardi and Ashkenazi performers, Piyut workshops and more: Israel’s cutting-edge progressive musicians will all join together to create a musical experience.
Some of our highlights will include:
-
A late-night, live performance by the Klezmer Yiddish band, Di Gassn Trio
-
An afternoon reception by Kehillat YOZMA Ensemble
-
A collaborative performance by choirs from IMPJ congregations
-
A multicultural blend by cantors from Ukraine, tunes from Syria, melodies from American composers, traditional songs from Israel and more.
Children and
Youth
The IMPJ Conference will focus on giving space for expression and learning from our youth. We will have the Israeli youth group, Noar Telem, and the Israeli pre-army “mehina” prep-groups, on the main stages, sharing their knowledge of evolvement in a digital world, in the X-gen and of the future of movements and congregations.
An alternative Shabbat- morning Shacharit service will be led by the youth and will provide a sacred space for families and children.
